ch.11
I really enjoyed this chapter dealing with biographies because these are my favorite books to read. I just love reading about another person's life and what they enjoyed doing.Teaching With Biographies it mentioned that children would rather read a biography than a textbook which really interested me. I really do believe that because children like to know about people of the past and one's who have shaped the world. The history of biographical writing is much like that in the world of art where everything started by a person who mastic times. Children's stories and biographies of the 17th - 19th centuries were used to teach religious and moral lessons. During the 60's and 70's critics and educators felt that biographical subjects was not the best for child development. Still to this day government or people of power don't believe in education kids about religion in school. Time lines are a great way for kids to learn and know what happen at certain times in the past. Some people read biographies to preserve the person overtime because they can't let go. Some books can be motivational and discussions for people that will enhance them about a person or subject.
