ch.10
In this chapter we are talking about historical fiction. These type of books go back in time and tell stories of our ancestors. They will give you a chance to think about what it was like back in the old times and where you come from. This book does talk about the slain using by younger generations and how they can pick up bad habits from reading these historical fiction books. I think the best way is to expose kids to good grammar so they will be use to it and speak it on a regular bases. In describing the characterization, the text discusses that concept that actions, beliefs, and values of the characters should be of the historical time in the book. Historical fiction presents the readers with a story that takes place during a notable period in history, and usually during a significant event in that period. Dealing with historical fiction these stories are coming from people's point of view living in that time. If gives readers an ideal how certain societies acted back then in certain places. You will be able to see the similarities between the present and past. I particularly like the part that states that historical fiction allows children/readers to judge relationships and realize that their present and future are very much linked to the actions in the past. I was told by older people that the things we do now they did almost thirty years ago and that time was just passing by again.
